Rawkus Records was a groundbreaking independent hip-hop record label founded in 1995 and became highly influential in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The label is renowned for launching the careers of several iconic artists, including Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Pharoahe Monch, and for its significant impact on the underground hip-hop scene.
In 1999, I contributed to the development of Rawkus Records' online presence by working on their Flash website and audio components. This project involved creating an engaging and interactive web experience that reflected the label's dynamic and cutting-edge brand. The Flash website featured multimedia elements, including audio streaming of new releases and artist tracks, enhancing the label's ability to reach and engage with fans online.
By integrating advanced audio capabilities and visually appealing design, the website helped Rawkus Records stand out in the early days of the internet, providing a platform for showcasing its artists and music to a broader audience. My work on this project demonstrated my early involvement in web development and multimedia integration, contributing to the label's innovative approach to marketing and promotion in the digital age.
